rusty and damaged threads, reforming them back to like new condition on
steel, copper or brass, up to and including Grade 9. This Patented Wrap Around Thread Reformer fits into the threads at the base of a threaded part and is backed out manually to reform damaged threads. Heat Treated (6 Times) Tool Steel, (over 50 Rockwell) |
Operation: 1 Open up the thread reformer and place it behind the damaged threads approximately 1/4”. 2 Close the Reformer into the good threads. 3 Place a deep socket over the Reformer OD. You can also use channel locks or vice grips. We recommend the Deep Socket. 4 Reforming action 1/2 turn CW & CCW, back and forth until minimum resistance is felt as you move out on the threads. Warning: • A Mushroomed Shaft must be reduced back to basic size before reforming. • Cannot be used with impact gun or any pneumatic or electric powered wrench, this voids the warranty • Cutting or Penetrating Oil required while reforming. |
